Who Are the Hillary Responders? Progressive Patriots They Aren't.

A mysterious organization calling itself "Hillary Responders" appeared over this past weekend on the world wide web. The purpose of the website, which proclaims it is not directly connected to the Hillary Clinton campaign, is to provide "talking points" for Clinton supporters on their blogs, on talk radio shows, in letters to the editor and so forth. But what kind of message do the "Hillary Responders" believe in? Click on the image below to read their "news" on Barack Obama's patriotism, which is focused on whether he wears a lapel pin and the location of his hand during the playing of the national anthem: Hillary Responders calling Barack Obama a traitor because he doesn't wear the right kind of pin We here at Progressive Patriots hearken back to the U.S. Constitution, which tells us that patriotism isn't defined by what pin you wear, or the manner in which you hold your hand, or how vigorously you wave a flag. The Constitution, the founding document of superconsensus around which this country was organized, tells us that the patriotism of those in government is to be measured by the extent to which they preserve, protect and defend liberty in these United States. Barack Obama has been defining liberty in just these terms, challenging us to renew our commitment to constitutional liberty. The Hillary Responders would restrict the American freedom of expression in order to win an election for their favored candidate. That's not patriotic. It's partisan and it's divisive and it's just what we don't need another eight years of in Washington. On top of all this, the Hillary Responders are apparently too ashamed of what they produce to give a name to themselves. They've hidden their identity with a cloaked registration, have refused to identify themselves by name on their website, and have only put up a "contact" form that lacks identifying information and doesn't actually work. Who knows who the "Hillary Responders" -- but progressive patriots they surely are not.
