Call Your Senators Now To Stop FISA Amendments Govt. SpyingThe Republicans say that they need to give telecommunications corporations immunity from prosecution when they spy on their customers' emails, telephone calls and web surfing. Does that pass the smell test for you? It ought not to. Yet, the FISA Amendments Act being pushed through the Senate right now would allow just such a thing, in the name of Homeland Security. Let's get this straight. The government does NOT need the right to read my emails, listen to my telephone calls, and watch where I go online. That has nothing to do with stopping terrorism, and it has everything to do with establishing totalitarianism. We must not sacrifice American freedom on the altar of fear. Please, call the congressional switchboard at (202) 224-3121. Tell your senators you want three things. 1. Vote against cloture on the FISA Amendments Act. If the debate continues, the Senate cannot pass this rotten legislation. 2. Support Senator Dodd's filibuster if cloture passes. 3. Vote against the FISA Amendments Act if the filibuster fails. Don't know who your senators are? Find out here. This action will only take you two minutes, one minute per phone call, but it means everything for the future of freedom in the United States of America. Please, don't let the telecom spies take over. It's time for true patriots to stand up in defense of liberty in the USA.
