Oddly, the New York Times recently ran a prominent story that promoted the idea that John McCain might not be so much like George W. Bush, really, and so we all ought to give him a chance.
It’s fact check time. Over at Where I Stand, people have carefully catalogued the political opinions of George W. Bush and John McCain. This hasn’t been a partisan project, either.
They found that George W. Bush and John McCain agree on an overwhelming majority of the issues - 80 percent. You don’t get much closer than that, so yes, it’s very fair to say that a vote for McCain is a vote for 4 more years of Bush.

If John McCain and Barack OBama are both like George Bush in their philosophy about violating the Constitution, as proposwed by one of your readers, then we are in deep doo doo.
It would be better if the person making the accusation about John McCain would cite where he/she gets his/her information before putting it “out there” as hearsay. Otherwise without specifics, who is going to believe it? Only the gullible. If it is true, then reference the source, please! Otherwise get yourselves another form of recreation. We the People have quite enough to worry about as it is! Have any of you written your Congressmen again and again to let them know you will not put up with this kind of legislating?
Calling or writing your representatives should keep you busy enough withouthaving tinme to stirr the pot of fear mongering!
