Many Americans worry that a right wing President could continue the momentum gained through George W. Bush’s judicial appointments toward an overturning of Roe v. Wade by the Supreme Court. If Roe v. Wade were overturned, then many states would probably ban abortion once again, as they did decades ago.
If Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee wins the 2008 election, however, things could get much worse than that. Huckabee has declared his intention, if elected President, to seek a nationwide ban on abortion, so that state governments would not have the option to keep abortion legal if their residents wanted to do so.
